Alice Lennox finished 8th with a new personal best score of 4871 while competing for the Great Britain team which triumphed over Switzerland, The Netherlands and France in this weekend’s Combined Events International at Ashford. Lennox’s previous best of 4852 had come earlier this year when taking the bronze medal at the England Athletics U20 Championships.
Lennox started the weekend in style, running a PB of 15.05 in the opening event, the 100m hurdles. She finished the first day in 11th place overall after a PB equaling 1.66 high jump and marks in the shot put (9.97) and 200m (26.22) not far away from her bests.
On the second day of competition she opened the day with a 5.57 long jump, well down on her best of 5.83, but recovered by adding almost 4 metres to her javelin best with 32.35. A solid run of 2.30.71 in the 800m took her to 8th place overall and her new points score confirms her place at the top of the U20 UK rankings.
